Tessa Yang is a reader, writer, and shark enthusiast from New York State. She received her MFA from Indiana University where she served as the Editor of Indiana Review.


Her debut short story collection, The Runaway Restaurant, will be available from 7.13 Books in October 2022. Shorter works of fiction and creative nonfiction have appeared or are forthcoming in The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction, The Cincinnati Review, Joyland, Foglifter, and elsewhere. Her book reviews can be found in Necessary Fiction and The Masters Review, and her flash fiction was included in Wigleaf's Top 50 Very Short Fictions of 2018 and 2019.

At Hartwick College, Tessa teaches classes on fiction, creative nonfiction, and literary editing. She's currently at work on a novel about a sea monster and a second story collection.
